Tim Lynch got involved in FFDY by happenstance, and he is grateful he did.

“I met Ben Su over lunch with a mutual friend, and the topic of FFDY came up. Before I knew it, I was volunteering my time to help the group with its media outreach. Then I attended the Easter picnic with my wife and teenage daughter, and I knew that I just had to belong to this group.”

He considers it a blessing in disguise that he does not speak Chinese and therefore must rely on a translator for some of the conversation at meetings.

“It’s humbling and a great reality check because I get a small sense of the challenges that some of FFDY’s parents face in navigating the bureaucratic, English-speaking world. It highlights just how important FFDY is.”
